The Velocity team is made up of individuals who can stand alone in their own right, but choose to be part of our team.  They include staff with backgrounds in hospitality, finance and marketing, computer programming and show management.  They've written articles, taught classes and, they're committed to our clients.

Karen Erkelens - Partner - Karen holds a finance/marketing degree and brings over 15 years of tradeshow & meetings management to the Velocity team.  well versed in all technical aspects of lead retrieval and online, web-based and onsite registration programs, Karen brings a unique combination of technical expertise and business savvy to our clients.  Over the past several years, Karen has had the opportunity to develop and manage all types of events from high attendance tradeshows to continuing education programs.  She has been responsible for budgets up to Two Million Dollars and has balanced the desires of clients against budgetary requirements to assure that all goals, both creative, technical and financial, were met.  Karen was previously a partner at Convention Retrieval Services, LLC, out of New Jersey, and was the driving force behind their aggres-sive marketing campaign.  In that role, Karen published in excess of 8 articles about such services as Registration, Lead Retrieval, Sessions Management, Audited Show Reports and the advancement of technology as it relates to conventions and tradeshows.  kerkelens@webregonline.com

 

Josh Handler, Director of Technology - Josh has over 11 years of experience in computer programming, interfacing bar coding functionality to Access database applications and is a Palm OS certified programmer.  Josh is an expert in all aspects of web design, web registration, secure server protocols and website design including Macromedia Flash 7 presentations and graphics design.  Josh has been designing, managing and monitoring online and onsite registration programs for over 7 years and is the driving force behind our continual improvement in online and onsite registration, including our exclusive web-based program that allows clients to enter our specially designed administration area to view, query and print reports in various formats from the information in the registration database.  Josh holds several degrees and certifications including a degree in computer programming, certifications in UNIX, Visual Basic, C++.  Josh@webregonline.com

 

Greg Weisz, Chief Computer Programmer – Greg has over 20 years of experience in computer programming coupled with hotel experience.  Greg has worked with some of the leading resort properties in the United States building complex and comprehensive registration databases.  Greg is our “second in command” in our technology department and provides invaluable insight into merging the requirements of our clients into a workable program.  Greg is also a Palm OS certified programmer and holds certifications in UNIX, Virtual Basic, NT Basic and other complex programs. 

 

Julian Cockrell - Director of Operations - Julian joined Velocity in 1998 shortly after immigrating from England.  Julian holds a "National Diploma in Computer Studies" from Reading College of Technology, Reading, Berkshire, UK and a "B.Sc. in Computer Science" from the University of Hertfordshire, Hertfordshire, England.   In addition to his expansive technical skills, Julian brings over 20 years of experience in operations to the Velocity table.   Julian has served in operational capacities with some of the most widely known companies in the world, including Novell, Textron and British Airports Authority (BAA).   Julian is responsible for interfacing with our technical staff and our clients and is responsible for all aspects of program management from start to finish.   Julian is also responsible for Velocity's "best practices" policy, developed to insure that clients receive the best technical expertise, equipment and staff at each and every program.  JCockrell@webregonline.com

 

Anita Williams - Operations - Anita has been involved in tradeshow/convention operations for a number of years and brings with her direct lead retrieval programming experience.  She is one of the Velocity staff who's on site at every program and committed to our clients.  Anita's strong skills in dealing with staff needs, equipment requirements and customer service make her contributions to our clients core to each of their tradeshows.  Anita has an extensive background in database management, equipment programming and administration.  She and her staff are the "go to" people at every Velocity program.  We're proud to have Anita on our team.  Anita@webregonline.com
